Osprey Crew

For students in Maryland

Real government work. Real paychecks. None of the red tape.

Counties, cities, and school districts across Baltimore metro and Annapolis need small jobs done every week — event staffing, data entry, park cleanup, deliveries. We win the contracts and handle the licensing, insurance, and paperwork. You do the work and keep the large majority of what the job pays.

Hired as a W-2 employee per job · No fees, ever · No experience needed

How it works

1

Find a job you want

Browse small contracts across Baltimore metro and Annapolis. Every listing shows exactly what you'd earn and what that works out to per hour — before you commit to anything.

2

Claim it

Two minutes, no résumé, no interview, no application fee. We confirm the details and tell you when and where to show up.

3

Do the work, get paid

You're hired as a W-2 employee for that job — taxes and workers' comp handled. We pay you on our schedule, not the government's net-30.

What you’d actually be doing

We focus on work that needs no equipment and no prior experience — where showing up reliably is the whole job.

Questions worth asking

Do I need a license, insurance, or a business to do this?+

No. That's the entire point of Osprey Crew. Government agencies require vendor registration, insurance certificates, and a mountain of paperwork before anyone can be paid — which is why students can't do this work directly today. We carry all of it as the contractor of record. You show up and do the job.

How do I actually get paid?+

You'll be hired as a W-2 employee for each job you do — not a 1099 contractor. That means taxes are withheld properly, you're covered by workers' comp, and you get a real pay stub. Pay is a set amount per job, and every listing shows what that comes to per hour. We pay you on our schedule; we're the ones who wait 30 to 60 days for the government to pay us.

Is this a real job or another gig app?+

Closer to a real job. Gig apps classify you as a contractor, which means no tax withholding, no workers' comp, and no protections. We deliberately don't do that — you're an employee every time you work, hired per job. The flexibility is gig-like: you pick what you claim and nothing is mandatory. The employment is not.

Is this legit? I've never heard of you.+

Fair. Here's exactly where we are: Osprey Crew is a new company, and we're validating that students actually want this work before we start bidding on contracts. The listings on our board are representative examples of what Maryland agencies put out — not contracts we currently hold. Claiming one costs you nothing, commits you to nothing, and gets you first access when we launch. We ask for no money, no SSN, and no bank details. If that changes, it won't be quietly.

How much work is there, really?+

More than you'd think. Every county, city, school district, and state agency in Maryland constantly needs small jobs done — jobs too small for big contractors to bother with and too bureaucratic for individuals to bid on. That gap is what we're built for.

What if I have no experience?+

Most of these jobs are designed for exactly that. Checking people in at a festival, scanning documents, picking up litter in a park, counting inventory — the skill barrier is deliberately low. Where training is needed, the agency provides it, and it's usually an hour.
